Help us recover the East Forest Park side of Lake Massasoit along So. Branch Pkwy. It is here that neighbors and Arbor Allies planted trees and saplings donated by the Garden Club last fall and a new footbridge was provided by Northern Tree Service. Please come this Saturday, April 27 from 9 AM to Noon. Help us clean the debris from the shore and continue a wonderful effort to Keep Springfield Beautiful in our ‘neck of the woods! !

Springfield Citizens Police Academy

The 35^th Class of the Springfield Citizens Police Academy

will begin on Wednesday, March 6^th and run through mid May.

This 10 week one evening a week course is sponsored by the Springfield Police Department asnd will give interested participants (18 and over) a chance to learn about policing in Springfield.

The classes are from 6 to 9 pm and are held at the Public Safety Complex, 1212 Carew Street (in the back of the Fire Station.)

This informal educational opportunity will familiarize you with the Organizational Structure, Narcotics, Detective Bureau, Crime Scene Investigation, Domestic Violence, Gun Violence, Use of Force, Canine, Special Task Forces, Crime Analysis, School Unit and Youth Division just to mention a few.

A new footbridge connecting the path on the East Forest Park side of Lake Massasoit was started in early January across the silt barrier along So. Branch Pkwy. It is near where neighbors and Arbor Allies helped plant the trees and saplings donated by the Garden Club last fall. You may want to watch the progress as the city along with Northern Tree Service’s continues a wonderful effort in our ‘neck of the woods’!.

Santa is Coming to the EFP Branch Library!

Santa is stopping at the library to hear the wishes of good girls and boys of all ages. This is an opportunity to enjoy a wonderful family time with your children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews in a Christmas environment right in your own neighborhood!

‘Cookies with Santa’ Event

Wednesday, December 19

5:30 – 7:30 PM.

There will be stories about good old St. Nick., merry making, crafts, treats and a chance for picture taking. Bring your camera!

Children of all ages are welcome. Refreshments will be served..

This fun filled evening is FREE.

Families are invited to dine on cookies, punch and coffee and meet with Santa!

To provide for children in need in the community,

Please bring a canned good for the hungry!

Make a less fortunate child’s Christmas a happier one.
